🌟 The
Story of Colossians — Christ, Supreme and All-Sufficient
Part One:
Jesus is Supreme
Paul reminds the Colossians that Jesus is
above all things:
- Creator
of the world
- Sustainer
of everything
- Head
of the church
“He is the image of the invisible God, the
firstborn over all creation.”
Jesus’ power and authority are complete;
everything exists through Him and for Him.
Part Two:
Fullness of God in Christ
Paul explains that all God’s fullness
dwells in Jesus:
- Believers
are complete in Him
- No
additional teachings or rules are needed to be made right with God
- Christ
is enough for salvation, wisdom, and life
“In Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives
in bodily form.”
Believers find true life and satisfaction
in Jesus alone.
Part Three:
Living a New Life
Paul encourages believers to live according to
Christ:
- Set
your mind on things above, not earthly things
- Put
off old habits and sinful ways
- Put on
love, kindness, humility, patience, and forgiveness
“Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness,
humility, gentleness and patience.”
A life in Christ transforms hearts and
actions.
Part Four:
Relationships and Community
Paul reminds believers to live in love within
the family and community:
- Wives,
husbands, children, and workers should act with respect and integrity
- Forgiveness
and love should guide every interaction
- God’s
grace brings peace and unity
“Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”
Healthy relationships reflect God’s character.
Part Five:
Lessons from Colossians
Colossians teaches us:
- Jesus
is supreme over all creation and the church
- God’s
fullness and wisdom are found in Christ alone
- Believers
are called to live transformed lives, full of love, compassion, and
integrity
Faith in Christ strengthens community, relationships, and personal growth
