✨ The
Story of Galatians — Freedom in Christ
Part One:
Freedom from the Law
Paul writes to the churches in Galatia,
warning them against returning to legalism:
- Some
were trying to follow old laws to earn God’s favor
- Paul
reminds them that salvation comes by faith, not works
“For you are all children of God through faith
in Christ Jesus. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor
female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Freedom in Christ unites all believers.
Part Two:
Living by Faith
Paul emphasizes that we are justified by
faith:
- Abraham
believed God, and it was counted as righteousness
- Faith
in Jesus brings forgiveness and a new life
- Trying
to earn salvation by our own efforts is not necessary
“The only thing that counts is faith
expressing itself through love.”
Faith expresses itself through action and
love, not just belief.
Part Three:
Life in the Spirit
Paul contrasts life under the Spirit
with life under the law:
- The
Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control
- Walking
by the Spirit brings true freedom and victory over sin
“If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in
step with the Spirit.”
- God
empowers believers to live righteous lives through His Spirit
Part Four:
Unity and Freedom
Paul reminds the Galatians that freedom in
Christ is not for selfish purposes:
- Love
others and serve one another
- Avoid
using freedom as an excuse for sin
- Unity
and care for the community are key
“Serve one another humbly in love.”
Christ’s freedom calls for responsibility
and love.
Part Five:
Lessons from Galatians
Galatians teaches us:
- Salvation
comes through faith in Christ, not works
- Christ
gives true freedom from sin and legalism
- The
Holy Spirit guides believers to live righteously
- Love,
humility, and service are the fruits of faith
